“At the heart of what I do is a love for people of diverse backgrounds and the desire to tell our stories in an authentic and meaningful way. I am here to showcase the beautiful complexities
of our human experience and place us center stage as the heroes of our own narratives.”
Keda Sharber is a Houston-based storyteller who uses film, photo, and written/spoken word to investigate and reveal the beautifully complex truths of her community. Since 2009 she has produced a variety of content including documentaries, web series, short films, fine art photography and written pieces that all share the same goal of shattering stereotypes and rewriting the narrative of Black people. A self-taught artist, Keda secured her first solo fine art photography exhibit for Harris County Cultural Arts Council in 2022, photographed the Brown Girls Do Ballet 2021 Calendar and has been published in SWC (Southwest Contemporary Magazine), Dance Magazine, and Arts & Culture Texas Magazine. In 2021, she was awarded the 5th Ward Go Neighborhoods Spark Arts grant for her Life in the Nickel documentary project. She is currently an Artist in Residence for Fresh Arts for her project “UNBOUND” and at The Anderson Center for her project “Belonging: An Exploration of the Notion of Home.”
